This month we announced a new €1.5 million investment to further reduce our carbon footprint across our owned EU locations. This is an important step in our mission to be the leader in low-carbon, affordable hotels in Europe.
The investment will be spent on improving energy efficiency in 9 owned EU hotels including Amsterdam Arena Boulevard, Amsterdam City Centre, Barcelona Fira, Brussels City Centre, Paris Charles de Gaulle Villepinte, Maastricht City Centre, Rotterdam City Centre, Paris Nord Aubervilliers, the Hague City Centre and The Hague Scheveningen Beach.
The improvements will be adapted to each location, from the installation of heat pumps and motion sensor LED lights to improved control systems. These carbon reduction initiatives are expected to drive 18% of CO2 savings and be implemented by the end of this year.
We have an ambitious strategy for reducing our energy emissions, with this following the £4.5 million investment in 12 of our UK locations that was announced in April 2023.
