Introducing the Development Team!

One of our most important strategic objectives at easyHotel is growth. Our goal is to expand our portfolio to 100 Hotels within the next few years and the Development Team are going to be a crucial puzzle piece needed to help us achieve this goal. Their role is to explore the market for potential properties to purchase, acquire or build to help us grow and expand. The team also engage with any hoteliers who may want to work with us under a Franchise partnership with a view to signing Franchise agreements and adding further easyHotels to the group.

The Development Team is lead by Gwenaëlle Pouy, our Chief Development Officer, alongside the Developers and the Construction Team.

Our Regional Developers are:

Tiago Venancio – UK & ROI

Thomas Robert - France & Belgium

Alejandro de Lara – Development Project Manager Spain & Portugal, supported by Ramon Riera, who is an external advisor.

Tiago, Thomas, Alejandro and Ramon are actively sourcing deals to expand the business within their defined regions. Each developer is responsible for sourcing deals, and negotiating terms through to closing. While Guilain Madelpuech, Development Analyst for Europe, works on investment projects with Gwenaëlle and the developers, analysing all the data to determine whether the project is suitable.

The Construction Team is responsible for building our new hotels (such as the Meridiana hotel which is due to open in the Summer of 2024), whilst also overseeing all our refurbishment and low carbon works in the existing properties. Charles Wigt is currently heading up the construction team as our Interim Construction director overseeing all the ongoing projects, such as: the planned refurbishment at Croydon and the final snagging at Paris Aubervilliers. Cecile Finas Guery will join the Team as permanent Construction Director from the 4th of September. Susana Collado is our Construction Project Manager for Spain working on projects in this region and we are currently recruiting for a Construction PM - UK who will work the UK & ROI Projects.

The Development Team all recently visited London for a Team Building day and spent some time on the water with Ramon being nominated as the captain and avoiding any obstacles!
