Last week, Alejandro De Lara, our Development Manager for Spain and Portugal, joined Onda Radio Madrid for an interview during FITUR, the Feria Internacional de Turismo (International Tourism Fair). Held annually in Madrid, FITUR is one of the world’s leading travel and tourism trade fairs - making it the perfect place for easyHotel to meet with industry leaders and developers.
(Alejandro previously worked for the Finance team at the London Support Office and made the move to the Development team last year to take on the challenge with expanding our hotels within the Spain / Portugal region.)
Alejandro explained how we keep prices low by focusing on what matters most – providing great locations, comfortable rooms and removing any unnecessary extras, getting people into the city!
He also shared how we’re leading the way for low-carbon hotels, including our recent €7 million investment in low-carbon upgrades across 21 hotels. The new compact, smartly designed rooms emit 39% less CO2 than competitors. The interview wrapped up with Alejandro mentioning our expansion in Spain this year, beginning with Madrid Alcalá this spring - just in time for anyone wanting some much-needed sun!
